OPSU runners compete in West Texas A&M meet

On Saturday, Oklahoma Panhandle State men’s and women’s cross country runners competed in the annual “Buffalo Stampede” hosted by West Texas A&M University in Canyon.

Competing in a field of over 60 runners in the women’s 5K run; the top Lady Aggie finisher was Veronica Lozana, who covered the course in 23:47 and finished in 38th place. Other Lady Aggies in the competition were Amanda Boggs (28:04), Rachael Beck (29:35), Kayla Joos (31:20) and Arlene Soto (31:21).

In the men’s division, nearly 50 runners covered a distance of 8K. The top Aggie finisher was Johana Korir, who travelled the course in 29:35 – good for the 29th spot. Other OPSU runners completing the run were Jesus Uribe (30:39), Quentin Williams (31:05), Martin Baeza (36:15) and Shaquille Redhair, who also ran 36:15.
