McPherson, Kansas — The Oklahoma Panhandle State University men’s golf team was in action on Monday and Tuesday in the Swede Spring Invitational Tournament, hosted by Bethany College. The Aggies finished tied for seventh in the 17-team field. The teams played two 18-hole rounds.
Teams had five golfers each and the Aggies’ top finisher was Julian Figueroa, in 23rd place overall, with a two round- total of 153 (80-73). Jake Strain (81-74) and Tyler Harper (80-75) tied for 31st with totals of 155.
Other Aggies in the competition were Brandt Gear who posted a two-round total of 159 and Shane Rice who shot 160.
OPSU head coach Roger McKinnon (in his 11th season) said he was encouraged by the performance of his team and added that he is looking forward to seeing them continue to improve.
