4-5: Oklahoma Free Hunting days. For Oklahoma residents, a hunting license and HIP permit are not required.

7: Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission meeting. Meetings are held monthly at the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Building (auditorium), 1801 N. Lincoln, Oklahoma City at 9 a.m.

9-10: 2010 Joint Meeting of the Oklahoma Chapter of the Wildlife Society and Bollenbach Wildlife Symposium at the Stillwater Plaza Hotel (corner of Perkins Road and McElroy, Stillwater). The state meeting will coincide with a patch-burning workshop on the morning of Sept. 9. The meeting sessions will include invited speakers, a student paper competition, and a fund-raising raffle for the Chapter. 11: Oklahoma Outdoor Outreach Foundation Youth Trap Shoot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shoot will be held at Tri-City Gun Club, Norman. Participants must provide their own shotgun. 11: The Tulsa Metro Women in the Outdoors event Camp Okiwanee, west of Sapulpa. This event is for women who are 14 or older. WITO is designed to let ladies try hands on outdoors skills, taught by experts, in a friendly environment. We have 24 classes to choose from. This is a one-day event. Classes start at 8 a.m. and end at 7 p.m. We have overnight lodging for those Ladies who have to travel. 23: The Oklahoma City Ducks Unlimited Chapter is having a Waterfowl Hunters Party at the Chesapeake Boat House, 725 S. Lincoln, Oklahoma City (around the corner from the Bass Pro Shop). We will start at 6 p.m. and be finished by 8:30 p.m. Prizes, drawings (over 70 boxes of decoys), food, a silent auction and a one year membership to Ducks Unlimited for only $25. 25-26: Oklahoma Wildlife Expo at the Lazy E Arena, just north of Oklahoma City. All things outdoors will be available in a hands-on educational format ranging from shooting sports and fishing to mountain biking, kayaking and more.

30: Win a Hunting or Fishing Trip from The Oklahoma Station Chapter of SCI. For only the months of June through September, SCI’s Oklahoma Station Chapter (“SCI/OSC”) is running a program for new and existing members involving a give-away of six trips: Oklahoma waterfowl hunting, Kansas pheasant hunting, Alaska fishing (two trips), Namibia hunting, and Macedonia hunting. The trips range in value from $1,200 to $10,000, and SCI/OSC intends to give away all six — over $25,000 worth in all.
