Clydean Walker, 45

Clydean “Starr” Walker, 45, died unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

The daughter of Roy Dean Ellard and Venita (Wells) Brogden, she was born May 24, 1964 in Guymon.

Clydean and Mark Walker were united in marriage on Jan. 11, 1997, in Henderson, Kentucky. They had lived in Washington, Indiana, from 1986 until 1997, when they moved to Dumas, Texas. They came to Guymon in 1999 and have resided here since.

Clydean had received her associate’s degree in nursing and had worked as an LPN, most recently as a private duty nurse. She enjoyed being involved in her children’s lives and was an active sponsor of the Guymon Band Colorguard.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Leon, brother, Albert Lee Woods and her father-in-law, Vincent Walker, who were very dear to her.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Walker; one daughter, Desiree Dakota Walker, both of the home; one son, Desmond Alan Harless of Stillwater, Oklahoma; her father, Roy Ellard of Guymon; her mother, Venita Brogden of Dumas, Texas; two sisters, Judy Walle of Dumas, Texas and Sharon Kay Mask of British Columbia; and one brother, William Woods of Texas. She is also survived by nieces, Lisa Walle of Hereford, Texas and Jessica Walle of Flint, Michigan and nephew, Billy Wayne Maltbie of Houston, Texas.

Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening, Nov. 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel with a time of visitation following.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning, Nov. 5, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Guymon with Father Bill H. Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Guymon High School Band. Memorials will be accepted at the funeral home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
