A Texhoma woman has died following injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash in Texas County Sunday afternoon.
Pat J. Worthington, 77, of Texhoma died early Monday morning at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, according to reports from the Oklhaoma Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at 2 p.m. Sunday on US Hwy 64, 19 miles north and 5.5 miles west of Texhoma, when a 1999 Ford pickup driven by 91-year-old William Hoskins of Texhoma was westbound on Hwy 64 and slowed to make a left turn. An unknown vehicle passed him on the shoulder of the highway, distracting Hoskins and causing him to turn into an eastbound 2007 Toyota driven by Jennifer Tuttle, 46, of Guymon. Tuttle was taken to Memorial Hospital of Texas County, where she was treated and released. Her passengers, John Tuttle, 57, and Janessa Standridge, 19, both of Guymon, were not injured.
Hoskins was taken to Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas, where he was admitted with trunk internal injuries and listed in stable condition. Worthington was also taken to Morton County Hospital in Elkhart and admitted with trunk and arm injuries, where she was listed in serious condition. She was later airlifted to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
All were wearing seatbelts.
The collision was investigated by Trooper Trey Sheets of the Texhoma detachment. He was assisted by Lt. David Welch, Trooper Brandon Bussey, Texas County Sheriff’s Office, Guymon EMS, Goodwell EMS and Texhoma EMS.
