Loading ...In the event anyone gets an email sent to them concerning gangs using a baby car seat to lure victims to stop on the roadway so they can be attacked, Guymon Chief of Police Eddie Adamson says he wants to let you know that it is a hoax.
The Guymon Police Department received this email a few months ago and we called the Missouri Dept of Corrections to see if there was anything factual but there was not. It had been passed along as a forward from one of their employees and it was then erroneously attributed to their agency. However, upon further investigation it was tracked further to the Tennessee Dept of Corrections who also reported that it is a hoax.
In recent months it has been attributed to law enforcement officers and agencies as a way to lend credibility to the hoax, among them are our police department and the 47th District Attorney’s Office in Amarillo, Texas.
We urge everyone to be vigilant in their travels but there is no documented effort on the part of gangs to target victims using this ploy.

I JUST RECEIVED A TEXT FROM A FRIEND THAT WAS SENT OUT FROM MO DEPT OF CORRECTION CENTRAL DISPATCH. IT STATED THAT NATIONAL GANG WEEK IS STARTING AND THIS IS THEIR NEW TARGET METHOD. WHILE DRIVING DOWN ANY ROADS, IF YOU SEE A BABY CAR SEAT SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, DO NOT STOP!!! THESE ARE GANGS TARGETING PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY WOMEN, TO STOP THEIR VEHICLE TO HELP A BABY. THEY MAKE THIS BABY LOOK AS IF IT HAS BLOOD ON ITSELF OR ON ITS CLOTHES, WHEN YOU GET OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE IN ATTEMPT TO HELP, THE GANGS JUMP OUT FROM CORNFIELDS OR TALL BUSHES. THEY HAVE BEATEN WOMEN TO NEAR DEATH, AND THEN CONTINUE TO RAPE THEM WITH BASEBALL BATS AND OTHER TORTURE METHODS. THIS IS NOT JUST A FORWARD OF INFORMATION, IT IS WITHIN OUR AREA. IF YOU DO HAPPEN TO SEE A CAR SEAT ON THE ROAD, DO NOT STOP CALL THE POLICE IMMEDIATELY!!! PLEASE SEND THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW.
