Direct Trade:      
   In the direct slaughter cattle trade in the Five Major Marketing Areas,       
Texas/Oklahoma; Kansas; Nebraska; Colorado; Iowa/Minnesota:  Trading was very
slow in Iowa/MN with very light demand Monday morning. Trading was mostly
inactive in all other trade regions.
   Steers: Live Basis: No trade reported.   Dressed Basis: No trade reported.
   Heifers: Live Basis: 83.50.    Dressed  Basis; No trade reported.

46.82.  Iowa-Minnesota .73 hgr at 41.00-49.00, weighted average price 47.70. 
Western Cornbelt .45 hgr at 41.00-49.00, weighted average price 47.62 and
Eastern Cornbelt .07 lwr at 41.00-45.95, weighted average price 44.08.      
         
   Live Basis (240-280 lbs): National direct trade barrows and gilts 1.03 lwr
at 30.77-37.47, weighted average 35.41.  Iowa-Minnesota 1.32 lwr at 31.92-
