CATTLE
Direct Trade: In the direct slaughter cattle trade in the Five Major Marketing Areas, Texas/Oklahoma; Kansas; Nebraska; Colorado; Iowa/Minnesota; Kansas and Nebraska; trade was light on moderate demand in the Texas Panhandle. Compared to last week, live sales traded steady. In Kansas trade was moderate on moderate demand. Compared to Tuesday, live sales traded 1.00 higher at 91.00. Not enough dressed sales for an adequate market test. Traded was and demand was moderate in the Northern Plains. In Nebraska compared to Tuesday, live sales traded .75 to mostly 1.75 higher with sales from 91.00 to mostly 92.00. Dressed sales traded mostly steady with sales from 145.00 to 147.00 with the bulk at 146.00. In Colorado compared to last week, live sales traded .50 higher at 92.00. In the Western Cornbelt trade was light on moderate demand. Dressed sales traded mostly steady at 145.00. Not enough live sales for an adequate market test. Steers: Live basis; (all Grades: 20,583 head) 90.00-92.00, weighted average price 91.15. Dressed Basis; (all Grades: 9,209 head) 143.00-147.00, weighted average price 145.74. Heifers: Live Basis; (all Grades: 18,904 head) 88.00-92.00, weighted average price 91.11. Dressed Basis; (all Grades: 3,137 head) 145.00-147.00, weighted average price 145.95.

Carcass Basis: based on 185 lbs hog carcass with 0.9-1.1 inch back fat and 6
inch square loin/2.0 inch depth plant delivered. National direct trade barrows
and gilts were .33 lower with prices ranging from 71.00-82.00, weighted
average price 77.74. Iowa-Minnesota was 1.18 higher at 71.00-82.00, weighted
average price 77.57. Western Cornbelt sold .56 higher at 71.00-82.00, weighted
average price 77.36 and Eastern Cornbelt was 1.51 lower at 72.00-81.50,
weighted average price 78.72.
Live Basis (240-300 lbs): National direct barrows and gilts were .96 lower
at 50.88-63.00, weighted average price 60.56. Iowa-Minnesota was 1.61 lower at
56.00-62.00, weighted average 59.95. Western Cornbelt was 1.74 lower at 55.25-
62.00, weighted average price 59.66. Eastern Cornbelt was .79 lower at 50.88-
